September gave us plenty of reasons to celebrate our Runcoach community! From age-group victories and personal records to marathon milestones and inspiring displays of perseverance, our athletes showed what can happen when hard work meets determination.

Community Highlights

  1. Eddie Northen headed overseas in preparation for the Baystate Marathon this October, taking on a splendid half marathon in rainy Stockholm! Running a speedy 21.1K on tired marathon-training legs is no easy feat, but Eddie made it happen. Bra jobbat, Eddie! ModelMondaySuccess
  2. Joseph Lennon stepped back into racing at the Run the Day 10K and celebrated with an age-group victory. Looks like you haven't lost a step, Joseph, and we're sure Rocky is proud of you!
  3. Coelle Merdler brought some extra personality to her US Air Force Marathon race-day reminders with a wonderfully unique set of nails. But her marathon story deserves just as much attention. After being sick for six weeks during peak training and reaching a longest run of just 15 miles, Coelle worked with her coach and lined up with one goal: finish. Despite painful cramps setting in at mile 18, she kept moving forward one mile at a time, drawing strength from the support around her to complete marathon number five. As Coelle put it, “I f’ing did it.” You absolutely did, Coelle!
  4. Nancy Kelley delivered a fantastic performance at the US Air Force 10K, taking first place in her age group with a smart race-day strategy and strong execution. A great reminder that having a plan, and trusting it, can make all the difference!
  5. David Wenner beat the heat at the Run Houston at UH 5K to claim an age-group victory. We also love seeing him pictured with his son-in-law and continuing the family tradition of race-day accomplishments. Way to go, David! Helen_3
  6. Floyd Whitehurst battled fierce Nor'easter winds at the VA Beach Neptune Festival and came away with age-group bronze. Tough conditions, strong finish, and another result worth celebrating!
  7. Jeanette Pandini had an outstanding day at the Buenos Aires Marathon, finishing in an impressive 3:41 despite hot and humid conditions. She placed sixth in her age group and finished in the top 10% of female runners overall. An incredible performance in challenging weather - congratulations, Jeanette!
  8. Jason Kirk took on the Orca Half 8 Miler, adding another race-day adventure to the Runcoach community's busy month. Great work, Jason!
  9. Megan Neeley continued going from strength to strength with a superb performance at the Day of the Dead 10K. It's exciting to see her building momentum across race distances. Keep it going, Megan!
  10. Cody Eaves took on the spectacular but demanding Pikes Peak course and absolutely smashed it with a smile. He admitted that the climb made him want to quit, but the descent left him feeling alive. We're glad you stuck with it, Cody. What an accomplishment!
  11. Beric Farmer braved cool temperatures at the Muskoka Marathon Weekend 10K and ran a huge negative split to earn a new PR and second place in his age group. He even closed the final 150 meters at an astonishing 2:55 per kilometer pace. Talk about finishing strong, Beric!
  12. Brian Blackwood represented Runcoach at the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon. Congratulations on taking on the challenge, Brian!
  13. Helen Sheirbon faced the elements at the Mission Bay/California South Olympic Distance Triathlon and claimed gold in her age group. With rough seas forcing the swim to be canceled, Helen kicked things off with an extra run instead—and still delivered a winning performance. We also loved seeing her daughter, El, competing in the sprint-distance event. A family affair to celebrate!
Congratulations to everyone featured in our September roundup! Keep tagging us and sharing your race-day moments. We love celebrating your progress, and you could be featured in our next community roundup!
